i figure that a 3.2 wants to see over 11,500 litres of fluid (air) per minute at 7,200 rpm (3.2 litre displacement every second rotation x 7,200 redline). one litre of fluid is, what, 10 cm x 10 cm x 10 cm = 1000 cm cubed. if we assume the ram air intake is 10 cm x 5 cm = 50 cm square, then each litre of air is like a 1000 / 50 = 20 cm column stacked in front of the intake. 20 cm/litre = .2 metres/l x 11,500 l/min = 2,300 meters/minute = 138 kph.

throw in sole losses and the ram air scoop is only of benefit on some really fast tracks.
