I noticed the same on mine. If I remember coorectly, the missing bolt threads into a hole on the transmission that does not even thread into the motor. My guess is the tranny case is probably used in other applications (VW or Audi) that used that bolt hole. I may be wrong, so give it a look and see what you think.
