I think I saw a thread in the DIY forum where someone installed hid's and removed the inner lens. I believe it requires baking the whole assembly in an oven at a specific temperature to loosen the adhesive that holds the clear portion of the headlight to the rear compartment. Once warmed, they can be separated and lens can be removed. Not sure how lens removal would affect halogen bulb light beam, though. You also need to know at what temp to bake so that you don't destroy the entire headlight. Run a search in the DIY forum for DIY HID.
