I think you face an uphill battle with the conversion. Porsche seems to make each car's electrical harness specific to the options installed in the car. Thus, a car that does not have heated seats does not have the wiring in place for the seat heaters.

I think the same would be true for the automatic climate control and making the conversion would not be "plug and play". I expect that the auto control would need a hook up for a temperature sensor or perhaps 2 - one for cabin temperature and one for exterior temperature. If you are determined to do it, I think you should start by finding a wiring diagram for both an auto and manual control car. That way, you will know what you need to add. If you have a friend with an electrical or electronic engineering background (or can pretend to be friends with someone who does) that would be a big help.

I was able to add a Homelink garage door opener to my 986, but I benefited from the work of someone on Renntech who figured out all of the wiring and electronic components needed. You probably won't have that advantage. On the other hand, you may be the first person in the world to try this and you will have a great feeling of accomplishment.
