Unfortunately I do not have any sound clips but a quick search on YouTube will return a few nice quality videos (search 986 GHL or Boxster GHL).
The tips do point upward slightly as designed and follows the angle of the rear bumper.
I removed the exhaust when I was considering selling the car. There is no welding required and bolts right up in place of the much heavier stock exhaust.
