Autocross is definitely a social sport. Sure you race, can have very intense competition, and learn every event about what you are doing right and wrong in your driving. However its the people that make you come back, 13 years later, I still enjoy it as much as ever thanks to the people. Welcome to the club. Definitely check for SCCA events in your area as well.
