Try this...
Disconnect the battery again.
Touch the positive (+) cable to the chassis for a few second to discharge any capacitance in the system.
Reconnect the battery and switch on the ignition - but do not start the engine - leave ignition on for at least one minute.
Switch off ignition for at least 10 seconds.
Restart engine.
It may take several miles and about 3 - 4 heat cycles of the engine temperature to completely reconfigure the system.....
