When I bought my car, I changed the gear oil to Mobil 1. When it was cold, 1st to 2nd gear was stiff and balky. Changed it out to Porsche gear oil, smooth as silk. Just use the OEM. Its about $100 but you will probably only change it every 5 years or so.
