catch-22. you need to open the frunk to remove the bumper. there might be too much tension on the hood not allowing the latch to actuate. my first suggestion would be to have someone pull the release near your seat while you
gently push down on the hood - though my guess is there would need to be a crapload of tension to keep it from unlocking.
also, have someone pull the lever while you listen. do you hear it trying to open or does it not make any noise?
