Xmod - I hear ya as I felt the same way when I first got the car. It pains me to admit this, but I took it in to get a headlight bulb changed.

Then I found this forum and started reading - went back through months of posts. It didn't take long for me to realize that these cars are pretty easy to work on and there was a lot of money to be saved by doing things myself. At this point, I've done all the regular maintenance items (plugs, belt, oil & filters, throttle body), plus I've changed the water pump and thermostat, a ruptured clutch line, changed the seats, shifter, steering wheel, etc. etc.

If it was me, I'd take Whip up on his offer. Be a good opportunity to learn about your car, and having somone with some experience helping you the first few times you dive in there is a real bonus. It will also give you a good idea of what tools you are going to need.
