I drove a Z3, Z4, 330i conv, & 99 M3 conv before buying my 6speed Boxster over 8 years ago. I hated the driveing position, outward visability, interior in it's entirety, push buttons especially, engine sound & feel of every BMW especially the ZZZ's.
The Tiptronic extracts about 10% more power than a manual trans Boxster but is still enjoyable to drive if coupled to 3.2L or larger engine.
