I have one of these. I've seen comparison tests done locally by some of the guys I go 4 wheeling with and this unit always has the best performance of compressors with much higher price tags. It clips onto the battery and I've never seen a good one that plugs into the cigarette lighter.
If you shop around you can usually find these for under $60. I bought mine at Pepboys a few years ago. The link is quite long, but you can google MV50 and find it.
