Not true. Brad Roberts Racing plus another guy from Mississippi on this forum have shoehorned a LS1 V8 into a boxster. It's very doable according to them, and a fraction of the price of a Porsche motor of any variety.
That's my dream, btw... a Porsche Boxvette. I just have no money right now.
