i think there might be some confusion about this process. the original assembly on vehicles < 2003 can't have the "amber" removed as it's actually the plastic that is yellow:

you must start with the lights from a 2003, or the litronics, which is clear in the turn signal with the amber glued to the reflector:

if i am misunderstanding, PLEASE let me know.
