Good plan.
If it comes back on see if the dealer will take care of it for you. Since it's "certified pre-owned" there should be some kind of warranty on it.
I wouldn't worry about too much being wrong because of this. Sensors, no matter what car, are very sensitive and the get dirty or go out all the time. At least it's just an O2 sensor so the car still runs.
