Cylinder numbering?
The freight car was to developed with the hope of revolutionizing the transportation of grain by carrying it in two enormous cylinders about 8½ feet long and 6½ feet in diameter and made of boiler iron and revolving on an axle running through the center upon the ends of which were the journal boxes.
