Then I discover that the Porsche bayonet is slightly off-set, and the replacement bulb has a parallel bayonet, so it won't fit either..... I only want to change a side-light bulb!!!! 
Replacement 5mm box spanner from www.porscheshop.co.uk will cost me £15.22 delivered to my house, now need to search for the damn bulbs again!

Hummm ... I use a 5 mm allen key (wrench to some) with no problems. My shop does the same.
In the UK ... try Powerbulbs.com to see what fits.
