I talked to a guy at a different dealership and while he still did not give part numbers, he made the point that Porsche definitely changed something between the old and the new. Whether they did something significant like change a thickness or material, or change something as silly as 'Tom' is assembling them instead of 'George', he didn't know. It is still in the air if they are actually different.
I think what I am going to do is look at the Luk manufacturing number, which on my older Porsche part number is DMF042. If i can determine that the Luk number from the newer Porsche part number is the same as the older Porsche number, I will assume that they only changed the Porsche number without making any changed to the actual part.
This is all so frustrating
