grab a set of schematics and a DMM and check the voltage coming back from the sensor.

it should be about 2.5v -- if it deviates significantly == than you have
a sensor telling you something is up. you can't tell if the sensor
is bad or not.

if you changed the harness from original - there could be a pin out issue.
