The sad part is when a new Porsche owner buys a car but doesn't know about these issues until they enthusiastically join a forum like this one and read more bad than good.. They quickly start to question their purchase and they generally then start shooting us emails, looking for some sort of positive support for the engine issues. I average abut 5 of these emails and 1-2 calls per week from these people, or people are looking to buy a Porsche and want info on the engine up front.

The engines have issues, they need more preventive and periodic maintenance and repair than people believe to stay in top shape.
