I can't see how that'd do you any good. You have a pretty heavy flywheel in these cars--you should have plenty of time to shift in a normal fashion before revs drop too low...?
If you were worried about turbo-lag i could understand it. All i see you doing is adding a bunch more stress on your gears, flywheel and clutch disk.
