Of course, no filter can ever be 'Lifetime' if it does an effective job of filtering.

But, replacement units are not available separately, they are intergral to the stalk. They get 'changed' when the other components on the stalk fail causing replacement of the entire stalk - SPENDY!

I suspect that as they clog, they work the pump harder as a result.

While we've not seen many issues from clogged filters in later cars, we have seen some fuel pump failures. Cause and Effect?

My 01's fuel filter was just changed out for a replacement. I think they must have instituted the move to the fuel tank for the 02 model yr. cars.
