Noise from rear
I have a 99 Boxster. It runs and drives almost perfectly amd had no noise when I got it. Right after the purchase, I had to let it sit for a few months. When I started driving it again, I noticed a slight vibration. I thought the tires might have developed flat spots from sitting so I had them re-balanced and checked. Then I got ripped off on a very bad 4-wheel alignment and after that I noticed a very slight sort of noise coming from the left rear. The noise starts at about 35-40 mph and doesn't change much at higher speeds and turning hard right or left makes no difference. I checked the toe in of the left rear wheel by comparing it to the toe on the right rear and the toe on the left is noticably more. My drive axels are almost new BTW. My question is - could excessive toe in and camber in the rear wheels cause any kind of noise. The noise does not sound to me like a noise a bad wheel bearing would make - it is more like a sound something makes once every tire rotation - if this makes any sense to anyone I would appreciate any insight before I start tearing the rear end apart.
