As a fool who has passed on a 57 T-bird at $1795 (white shoe polish price on windshield on used car lot), a 65 Cobra 289 at $6500, and a 904 at $6500 I can vouch for cyclical valuations. We'll not see Speedsters for less than 3 grand again either.

Wish I still had my original owner 65 289 Mustang also.

As Boxster values go down they will be bought and discarded by those unable or unwilling to maintain them. Some will be gutted and tracked. And the original paint/matching numbers cars in great condition will start to appreciate.

Hemmings just picked the 944S as one of five "foolproof sports legends for hard times."
