Very good question Jay
1- complete stop - ignition OFF - (fuel pump off)
2-top in service position
3-undo engine cover fasteners
4-remove cover quickly and get out of the way - don't stick you face in there
5-use fire extinguisher quickly without putting you arms in too far
We have had a serious power steering fluid leak at the track and you will be amazed at how fast you can get that engine cover off
