For me, I loved when the temperatures dropped. The COLD air going into the engine vs summer air made a noticeable difference in the way it ran.

That is a good point. Years back, I always did a ton of maint and detailing to my cars in the fall. I remember thinking that my 67 MGB drove like a new car after that.
The new tires, tune up and the crisp Fall air might have influenced by thinking.
