This will walk you through the ins and outs of replacing your cluster and how to get to the screws. In this thread he is replacing his boxster cluster with one from a carrera (I did this mod and love it), but will work for what you are trying to accomplish. You just have to read through it to find the procedure for removing and replacing your cluster, as it goes into the different steps necessary for the carrera cluster swap.

The mileage is stored in the cluster, so you will either need to send the replacement cluster off to have it reprogrammed with your mileage or just go with the mileage that is on the new cluster. If the cluster is brand new or under 600 miles (I think), then the dealer can set the mileage to match your old cluster.
