Coming out, the bolts just didn't seem right. I tried torquing down on them, and on two of them it seemed like they were about to just strip the threads out of the wall. One actually did this. An M6 only has a thread depth of about 1/2 mm (~.020"), so being bolted in Aluminum doesn't give a lot of confidence.

On an area so critical to the life of an engine that is so expensive to replace, better off safe than sorry. This way, I won't worry about if they will come loose.

I don't know if the threads are prone to problems, but by looking at the design, that area does support a fair amount of force, so I don't know if it can ever cause the threads to get worn.
