I made reusable numbers (both sides and hood) for about $12. Buy magnetic HVAC vent covers from Home Depot or Lowes, use
http://www.thscc.com/autocross/forms/nums.pdf as a stencil, and tape the leading edges with painters tape. I scaled the numbers 10" high and they have worked great through several DEs.
