No.
I used stainless steel pipes that I had mandrel bent.
If you don't use stainless they will start to rust quickly.
The reason I chose 1.25" was because I wasn't sure how loud it would be.
In hindsight I think 1.5" diameter would have been better.
But I'm happy with my results. It's been over 4 years already.
