You mentioned that the car feels insulated. I'm going to guess that you have experience with much older, lighter sports cars. Although Boxsters are always praised for their feedback, I tend to agree with you. There are ways to bring back some of that sensation, the car responds well to the sport suspension and smaller/stiffer tire sidewalls. But it's a larger tire'd, heavy car compared to sports cars of yesteryear and it will never feel like an MGB, old 911 or a 240Z (or even a Miata). It's not always a bad thing, I suppose.
