You, drive the car and drive it often. My 97 is the wifes daily driver, it has over 100k on the clock and hasn't missed a beat. 3rd water pump and second convertible top, but these are expected issues.
The only complaint I have about the little fellow is the annoying engine vibration at 3,200 while cruising. This is normal for some engines and I will do nothing to try and make it go away.
Just put an extra coating of wax to keep the bugs off of it and just hit the road.
