Any rear 911 bumper is not going to fit the 986. They're completely different. Of course nothing is impossible, but it's not really practical by any means.

As noted the front 2002 996 bumper is made for different headlights. You would not only need the new headlights and fenders, but yes you would need a new hood and all of the pieces (fender liners, headlight supports, hardware, etc.) that go under those parts. It's no easy task to swap the front of a 986 to the turbo-style headlights and it's not cheap at about $5,000 in parts. However, Jeph has done it (and detailed it here, do a search) and another fellow named Danny has done it. So it certainly can be done.

The cheapest way to do this right now would be to buy Jeph's car, he just put it up for sale. Then you'd have the swap already done. If you insist having it on your personal car, then buy Jeph's car, swap the parts around, and resell the car you have left.
