There is nothing wrong with the cloth oiled cone filter. The problems arise when users over oil them, then wonder why they have problems down the road. I've used one in my '02 S (Evo Hi-Flow) for the last three and a half years without issue. Lightly oil the filter (if not pre-oiled from manufacturer) and wrap in newspaper for a day or two to soak up any extra oil. Why pay extra money for a filter you don't need?
Oh yeah, wait until you hear the sound!
