Speaker & Sub Options

I love my car.
I hate my stereo.

Heard that before?? I will change the second phrase to "I love my stereo" by doing what we all do - pouring money over, under, and into the boxster.

Before I do so - got three questions that I'm hoping someone can help with.

1) For a subwoofer, I've heard of people adding them to the doors, passenger footwell, and even the rear trunk. Has anyone tried putting the sub in the front by the spare tire? I am curious if this system will produce a good effect, as I really don't want to give up on interior space.

2) For speakers, if I don't already have door speakers, do I need any special framing to put new ones in there?

3) Finally, I don't currently have a rear storage compartment. Any members put in after-market speakers or tweeters on the rear deck with a custom box? If so - I'd really appreciate a picture of how it turned out. I know a pretty good installer who is comfortably fiberglassing custom boxes, but I'd love to show him a picture first of a fellow boxster owner whose done it right.

Thanks for the help!
