My CEL came on, checked at Autozone, indicated bad MAF so I cleaned the MAF. CEL was off for about a month. Came on again, took it to dealer for better diagnostic. Told me the MAF was indeed bad, and I had one bad o2 sensor. Both replaced under warranty (I have an 02 base model, 65K miles- and a wicked good warranty).
2 weeks later CEL back on again, this time dealer read it as bad oil separator which is being repaired tomorrow.
I am curious if the oil separator might have been an emerging issue, causing the MAF or o2 sensor to go bad? From what I know, the o2 sensors can go bad one at a time. If you are doing the DIY, maybe do them all since you are already in there? I am just thankful to have this work covered under warranty- wish you luck.
