I just had it towed to the independent shop that I use in Richmond. They said they should be able to check it out this week to see what happened. There were no unusual noises, rpms were low, just had trouble shifting gears, never had any fluid leak onto the floor before.... Any ideas?

Well if the fluid leaked is very thick, then yup its transmission gear oil... Your leaking it from 1 of 4 possible areas.

1) Front main tranny seal
2) Drain plug
3) Passenger side axle seal
4) Driver side axle seal

Jack it up and take a look.
