Removal of the soft top? Well, you'll have to take off the whole frame, and from my experiences changing my soft top (partially successfully), this will be a pain in the butt.

DOn't do it unless you have someone around that has done it before! The porsche tops are notorious for being finicky, and you might inadvertantly destroy soemthing.

I understand what you're saying about the plastic bending and creasing.
