At this point, you should NOT boost start the car. You should charge or replace the battery.
From your description, I suspect you may have issues with the battery itself. Have it load tested, or if 5 yrs. old (or of unknown age) just replace it. I suspect it's been discharged too many times to properly hold a charge anymore.
If you try charging it or boost starting the car, I would expect that the car would strand you somewhere.
