That is the price of the motor, exchange. The price I was quoting is an approximation of list. That means unless you have an identical core to give them back you pay between $2500 and $5500 core charge, depending on the type of motor. The last quote I had from Sunset was in the summer before the decline of the dollar vs the euro and the price increases that accompanied it, and for a 3.6 is was $8500 +2500 core, that is $11k. So $15k puts you in the right ballpark. A company carrying out the conversion is likely to charge you full list and then some, not give you a discount or at their cost.

An X51 3.8 is about the same motor cost, but the core increases to $5500. You then need to factor in shipping if you are not getting it from a local dealer which will add several hundred dollars.
