The light is only ON for a required Speed Calibration of the DME on start-up - the DME needs to know with some degree of accuracy when the car reaches an actual, not indicated, 70MPH in order to lift the spoiler.

Once the car hits 3MPH, it should go out. If you idle for an extended time, it could remain ON for a while, because this calibration cannot take place unless the car is in motion.

If yours is staying ON past this 3MPH threshold, it could mean something wrong with the speed sensors at the front wheels. A possible short, corroded or loose connector is most likely. There have been at least one report of a speed sensor coming loose from the hub carrier entirely.

This indicator at start-up has nothing to do with the actual spoiler mechanism. Only if an issue develops upon deployment will it light for that reason.

The spoiler is a major contributor to high speed stability. Personally, if I didn't see anything wrong with the speed sensors and their wiring, I'd want to have it checked for safety's sake.
