The one on my 2000 Non S failed as well. Accentuated at ax by high rpms (hence, higher pressures) which caused quite a look as the car smoked its way around the course. Get it fixed. The part is cheap (relatively that is) and the smoke and smells are obnoxious to say the least. It will be a condition that only gets worse, not better.
