911-style Rear Bumper for 986S?

G'day all,

I've searched and searched here and can't find an answer, but please shoot me down (or at least point me in the right direction) if someone has already posted on this subject.

I'm wondering whether anyone has come across, or fitted themselves, a rear bumper that uses the twin (left and right) exhaust locations as per the 911 series rather than the centre location as per the Boxster / Cayman / 997 GT3?

Given the stupidly prohibitive cost of importing any of the aftermarket exhaust solutions into Australia, I'm toying with the idea of having a local exhaust shop manufacture a custom exhaust designed mainly for track work (ie as light as possible, 95dB max, resonance not an issue). The shop suggested (quite rightly) that to replicate the bends involved in taking the exhaust to the centre outlet location in the rear bumper is just adding cost, labour and flow restrictions, and pondered whether we can just outlet the exhausts on either side a la 911.

Has anyone come across a rear bumper suitable for a 986S that allows this exhaust configuration? I'm assuming that the 996 bumper doesn't fit (basically because there are dozens of people here who have fitted 996 front bumpers, but none I can see who have done the rear) but very happy to be corrected there.

Any thoughts from the experts here? Or perhaps any reasons why nobody has gone with the side exiting exhausts on their Boxster systems?

Thanks all,

James
