Just a wild guess here, but it could be that you screwed up your wheel bearing. Parts aren't expensive, but the labor and the special tool required for the job aren't cheap.

I wouldn't keep driving the car though... have a mechanic look at it if you can't visually see anything wrong with it.

If it's the wheel bearing you should be able to jack it up and hear it when you spin the back wheel.
