I think B+ is a power supply and shouldn't be connected to a ground path. Best recheck all your connection before you let the smoke out of the wiring harness.
Ok Not a ground strap, but its the heavy wire that attaches to the b-positive terminal and runs power to the starter and to the alternator.

I have power at the starter. It will crank if I jumper power buit does not start. The car is not happy about something...
