It is definitely just a low battery, but you may not need to buy a new one. You can get a battery tender trickle charger and it will most likely charge it back to regular levels.
You will need one whether or not you need a new battery as it sounds like your car sits for long periods of time due to weather where you live.
I had this happen with my old Harley and the battery tender was a life saver. Has not happened with the Boxster yet as I'm able to start/drive it enough
