I don't see any question here that something like this would be better than the stock belt. I know that in my Boxster, after having installed Gemballa springs and lower stress bars, the cornering ability of the car now exceeds my ability to stay put and hold on in the driver's seat! My daily beater car on the other hand has a race seat and six point harness. When I'm strapped into that thing you don't move and have MUCH more control of the car in tight turns. ANYTHING that is going to help hold you down tight is going to help you to have better control - especially with leather seats.

I haven't seen this brand of seat belt tighteners first hand, but the concept is very sound. This should definitely help at the track, but will still fall short of what a race seat and harness would offer of course. I personally wouldn't spend big bucks on something as simple as this though. They make metal brackets similar to this for child safety seats. They allow you to lock down the lap belt in one position. It seems to me that I've seen these for sale at Wal-mart for just a few dollars....
