I'm sure toolpants has a belief one way or another, but I found some interesting stuff on the Porsche website concerning short shifters. They tech guy said:
"The shorter throws will not shave that much time off your shifts and they will always be harder to make after conversion (more effort on the part of the driver) because the shifter mechanism must do the same amount of work with less movement. Unless you're planning to race your Porsche, keep the standard shifter and simply learn how to make good, smooth shifts."
It made some good sense to me. Toolpants, you've installed a bunch of them... do you think it takes more effort to shift with a short shifter and is it more for show or go for the non-track boxster driver?
