Had a blast with the Audi Club at Friday's open track day. Got to briefly talk to Alex Whitney, CDI. I also got to get some video coaching from celebrity pro racing driver Ashley Freiberg (higher entry speed, go faster!). This was my first time and let me tell you I was happy to do lead/follow with Don (CDI here at PCA AZ). Thanks Don! Lots of coned off areas... and can be confusing. But after a couple sessions, I got the hang of it and started to push it harder. Good track for a mid-engine car and rewards momentum. I think this has to be my favorite Western track now, Chucky being a close second. Nice location, great weather and impressive mountain views with snowy peaks. Looking forward to next time, maybe instructor's school...

SMR is a great track. I ran there my very first track weekend and would love to get back out there again, especially now that I have a clue to driving on a track.
+986 on Chucky too. Going to be there in a few weeks with PCA SDR

Did you use turn signals for point-bys? Looks like the BMW used his left turn signal to say he was going left. I've only used turn signals once and that was for a downpour at COTA. We used the turn signal to tell the passing car which side to go - right signal, pass on the right, etc.

Nice laps. Doesn't look like many cars in your run group.

No Audi Club uses turn signal to show intent of what line the passed car will be taking... Was new to me. I had previously used turn signals at COTA as well with MVP track time.
