Guy is clueless of course, and seems to not like German engineering... |
I’ve changed my water pump 3 times, 2 by myself and once by an indie. All together they didn’t cost me $1k:

Man, the dude's an idiot. But, he does make me miss Bobcat Goldthwait!
Hahaha I checked out the other video one of you linked below, about the the Mercedes. Truthfully, Mercedes has been the cheapest car I've ever owned. Cost per mile, Mercedes is a better value than any other car I've ever owned. And I've owned 70 of them now, haha! Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk |
Isn't that the guy that plays in the band Rush?

This guy would be at home with a K car.

My replacement water pump cost US $175 and I fitted it myself. My automotive skills are fairly low but I took two days and I think I enjoyed it.

What an angry little man...

We just got back from a trip to Atlanta (Alpharetta, actually--family thing) and Savannah (the actual vacation : ). While in Savannah we stayed at the Eliza Thompson house (very nice--recommend) but also did a couple nights camping. Those nights were a bit rough. Hot and humid, and hardly a whiff of breeze. WORSE: they had these little gnats that were merciless. These guys would buzz around/into your ear, you'd swat them away, and 2 seconds later one would be buzzing your other ear. Then you'd have one in BOTH ears. They were absolutely relentless, never let up until well into the night. Spray was a little help, but only temporarily. Anyway, watching that guy on that youtube made me think of those gnats :p |
What a ‘TOOL’!
I wouldn’t let this idiot even ‘wash’ any car I owned, he’s obviously a clueless wannabe! A $1,000 to replace a water pump, really? This guy is obviously in the US, so here’s a wake up call for you moron. I live in Australia the land were my 2001 Boxster cost the original owner not $50,000 but a whooping $131,000, so a bit of a price difference. Now I recently had to have my water pump replaced while on a trip back to my hometown, and I had it done by a mate of mine who owns his own shop, but he works almost exclusively on early muscle cars, so no fuel injection or ECU’s or electronics to mess with. When I pulled up in my Boxster with it’s noisy water pump, he took one look and said no way, but then I showed him the access panel behind the seats, and when he saw where the water pump was he put the car up on the hoist and within 20 minutes of pulling up at his shop he had the water out! A phone call and a ‘new oem’ water pump was on its way to his shop $320 for the pump, when the pump arrived it took him another 20 minutes to fit the pump and refill the coolant, all it cost me $480, so whoever you were talking about charging $1,000 to do this job in the US must be a total ‘RIPOFF ARTIST’, either that or you’re full of ****************! As far access to work on the Porsche engine, I’ve pulled my engine and transmission out to replace all the timing tensioners, and after doing it I’d rather work on a Porsche than some other vanilla branded cars. My wife’s 1997 Toyota Camry had to have the water pump replaced last year, and that cost $580, and the mechanic told me that they have to pull half of the left side of the engine off to get to the pump! So my advice to you is that you should go back to working on beat up junkers from the 60’s, because you have no idea about Porsche’s what so ever! Moron! |
